Assessing the amount of compensation payable

NPE primarily covers the financial loss you have suffered as a consequence of the injury caused by your treatment. You are not entitled to compensation for pain and suffering.

When you apply for compensation, you will receive the help you need from NPE; legal assistance will not normally be required. In some cases however, the circumstances may warrant the cost of legal advice to be covered.
